Pam Tanner will introduce you to her proven training system presenting techniques to foundationally build an understanding and willing partnership with your horse both on the ground and in the saddle. These techniques are designed to create a partnership with your horse based on mutual trust and respect. This foundational course will give you the knowledge and skills to help you with absolutely ANY problem or miscommunication that arises between you and your horse. Don't miss it!!
DAY ONE will take you and your horse through a series of straight-forward groundwork exercises to create a solid foundation of trust and respect between horse and rider. This will also include a de-spooking process in which EVERY horse should undergo to ensure safety and confidence, whether in the ring, at a show or on the trail. All of these exercises create an all important foundation to everything we will be doing under saddle on day two. Participants will learn to perfect the "release" of pressure needed to successfully teach your horse absolutely anything, both on the ground and under saddle.
DAY TWO will build on the priciples learned in day one but apply them under saddle. You will learn proper saddle fit, teaching your horse to stand still while mounting, creating softness to the bit both laterally and vertically (for collection). You will learn to teach your horse to both stop and backup just off your seat without using the reins, move both the hip and forehand with your legs, smooth and crisp gait transitions and much, much more. Horses will learn to ride with plastic grocery bags flapping around them, cross tarps and bridges. All issues riders commonly have under saddle will be discussed and dealt with. You won't want to miss it!
IMPORTANT: In order to participate in day two, riders must have participated previously in Day One.
